12-31-08

This photo was taken of the ball dropping in Times Square on the TV. Rob and I were the only ones to go to Anita's party in the snow storm. Kirsten, Chris, Jenn and Darren were there also, but the either live there full time or on the weekends. We ended up leaving at 11:15 because Rob was too tired. We stayed up to watch the ball drop though.

Hmmmmm...not sure where the picture I took today went. It apparently didn't upload to the camera before it got deleted.

This is the cute Hello Kitty lamp that Kirsten got me for Christmas. I love it! It's going in the office on my crafting table.

I'm trying to sell my Subaru and this is one of the pictures I took to post on Craigslist.com.

Ooooo...movies for our new BlueRay player. These were from Mom for Christmas or my birthday. I actually forgot one. It is the complete season one of Fraggle Rock, my most favorite show from when I was a kid!

I've busted out my vintage Singer to sew some aprons for Kirsten and Anita's Christmas gifts. I got a basic pattern and some cool fabrics. They love to make crazy cakes, so I thought they would be appreciated. I hope they don't take more than a few hours, I'm not a very good sewer.

Christmas!!!!!!! Rob and I went to his father's house for breakfast this morning. Then we headed to mom's for dinner at 3pm. This is her tree with all the pretty packages under it. I wonder what is in them?

Me and dad by the Christmas tree at Aunt Sam's house. I don't have very many pictures of us together, so this is a good thing. Unfortunately, I unknowingly ate an egg roll with shrimp in it, so we couldn't stay for very long. But I did get #1 in the Yankee Swap! I got a nice sum of money from dad for my birthday and Christmas, plus some nice things from my aunts.

Hmmmm...apparently there's no way to turn photos once you've uploaded them here. Oh well, you get the idea. I told Rob that this is what I wanted for Christmas. I want the little baby turquoise budgie on the far right front. He is so cute! But Rob doesn't like budgies, or so he says...I'm working on him.

Yup, that's a big pile of snow. And yes, that is Rob's STI under it. This is our 5:30am shoveling job so we can go to work. There was A LOT of snow! No snowblower either. :(

These are the remains of the beautiful flowers Rob got me for my birthday. These lilies were very pretty and had a very overwhelming scent. He was so proud that he picked them out himself. It was a nice thing to come home to after a miserable day of self-pity for turning 29.

Ahhh...the Nutcracker. It is a tradition that mom takes me out to the theater for my birthday, and we usually end up seeing the same thing year after year. It is our favorite ballet. This year the performance good, but not great. But it was a fun night with mom.

This is my beta. His name is Sushi. I know, it's a little cruel, but he doesn't seem to mind. I've had him for almost two years. In beta years he is ancient!

I finally put up our Christmas tree. It may be only 3 feet tall, but it's better than nothing. We had planned to get a real tree this year, but with all of the storms and power outages, there wasn't enough time.

Ugh. This is what I have had to deal with for the past few days at work. Crazy edits all over the 120 page document. Can you wonder why I don't want to go to work tomorrow?

This is just the beginning of the madness that I'm sure will follow at this person's cube. It's already spilled over to her neighbor and the cabinets across form her, and I've seen boxes of unopened Christmas decorations in her cube. It will probably look like Christmas threw up pretty soon!

Well, here it is. The annual Simonson family photo, minus quite a few people. Ok, so it's really the Cote/Liberge/Murphy (not sure what Justin's last name is) family photo right now. But we always take one on our winter trip to the Cote's in Vermont. I miss them sooooo much! I hate that we only get to see them twice a year now. But I cherish the time we do get to spend with them, even though I'm allergic to their pets and have to use my inhaler, which I hate. Love you guys!

P.S. - We got power back today. Rob brought the birds from mom's house back home. I know he's happy to be home again. He'd been staying at mom's house while we are in Vermont.

Happy Birthday to you! This is Meghan's 7th birthday (it's really on the 15th), and we are celebrating my 29th along with it. Poor girl, she's never had a family birthday party to herself, I had my 22nd birthday in the hospital room where she was born! This was a great day at the Cotes' house in Westford, VT. We had our birthday parties today, and tomorrow we'll do Christmas.

My reflection on twenty nine

1/365

12-11-08

This is it. This is officially the start of my last year in my 20s. I am 29 years old today. I figured I would start of this 365 photo project with a picture of myself. It's kind of a funny picture, one that is new yet old at the same time. I have a new haircut, but I'm wearing a 10-year-old shirt. I have a new outlook on life, but I'm stuck in the same patterns that I've been in for years. *Sigh* This will be an interesting year, that's for sure!
