I managed to hook up with a woman who owns a custom t-shirt printing and embroidery shop here in town. We discussed things and decided that I would create illustrations to print on t-shirts on a freelance basis. Cool! This is one of first designs that I've come up with. It's still an in-progress design, but I love the mom and baby! I hope our new partnership works out well.

Roo really likes to look out the windows now that there are signs of spring in the air: the birds are nesting, the trees are budding and the snow is finally gone! Him and Pip Squeak sit on the cross-bar on the windows and stare outside for hours.

This is the painting that hung over the couch in the living room of the Attitash condo. I think it's very peaceful and pretty. I don't know who the artist is, but they captured a beautiful fall day in the woods.

Ok, I know that it is the end of March, but this is the first time that we've been snowboarding this season. We stayed up at Attitash with Rob's family from Friday to Sunday, and we went snowboarding today. It was a little chilly and it sprinkled a bit, but then the sun came out after lunch and it was near 50 degrees! I started out the day snowboarding, but decided to rent skis after the first run. It's been three years since I've snowboarded, so I've forgotten how to do it! I ended up with five runs total, while Rob got almost ten (I'm slow on skis). It was a lot of fun, and thank goodness that we've been going to the gym, my quads were killing me at the bottom of the mountain!

This is our room for the weekend. Rob and I went up to Attitash today and we're staying at the Seasons with his family. The condo is nice, two bedrooms, kitchen, living room, bath, and upstairs sleeping loft. Last year, we didn't have our own room, and had expected to stay on the pull-out couch. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we found out that there was no pull-out! So I got the couch and Rob slept on some cushions on the floor in the living room. I am happy to have our own room this year!

Here is an updated picture of my crafting area. It's coming along, but it still is a work in progress.

Rob's' cousin is getting married a few days after Halloween this year, and they are asking everyone to dress up in costumes. So after some thought, I am seriously considering making a Rainbow Brite costume. Here she is in all her rainbow glory above. I have found a premade costume online, but it is EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY!!!!!!!! short. I mean, wear-nice-panties-short. I don't think that will go over too well at the wedding, even if I had the body for it!

Yes, that is a rotary phone.

Yes, it still works.

Yes, we do use it, quite often actually.

Ouch.

This is what happens when you don't clean a foot of snow off a thin metal shed roof. Whoops! Luckily there is nothing really breakable in there. Just 14 sets of tires, the lawnmower and other lawn tools, an engine and a skill saw. Oh well, that will have to get replaced one of these days...

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Ok, so I know it's a little late, but today we went to Rob's Dad's house for his annual corned beef and cabbage feast. I look forward to this all year, because he makes the BEST corned beef dinner! Plus, Andrea's mother always makes Rob and me our own loaf of Irish soda bread to take home. So good!

Wow, it's my 100th day of taking pictures. I can't believe it! Only 256 days left! If I'd realized that, I probably would have taken a more meaningful photo, although, I love this picture of Pip Squeak.

Can you guess what this is?

*Jeopardy theme song*

Nope, wrong answer.

It's the bottom of my Eclipse engine where the crankshaft should go. Rob and I dismantled the entire block and are now cleaning it so we can start the rebuild. I hope to have this car running again someday. :(

Well, isn't this an interesting collection of stuff? Slippers, laundry detergent, christmas decoration stragglers...yeah. Gotta find homes for all this stuff.

SEED THIEF!

Molly has been caught red handed, er, beaked! Roo is still eating seeds as his main food, and the other birds aren't supposed to eat his seeds. Obviously, they don't care for that rule, since Molly has empty seed hulls all over her beak! Naughty girl...

This is what being owned by birds means: anything you own is in turn their chew toy. Even smelly sneakers!

Here I am laying under my Eclipse, trying to take the oil pan off to see what is wrong with my engine. Turns out that I spun another rod bearing, big suprise!

This is my view from under the car. The red and blue thing on the left is my new lowering spring and strut. The mess on the right is my timing belt gears and tensioners.

This is the result of my crawling under the car and working there for a few hours...messy hair with rust flakes in it, and a dirty, smudged face. Grrrr...we need a lift in the garage!

OMG, Anita's eating sushi!!!

And the best part is, she likes it! We all went to Bisuteki Japanese Steak House in Revere tonight for Chris's birthday. I talked her into trying the California roll and, although she can't use the soy sauce, she really liked them. Cool, more sushi lovers!

Yay! It's chiropractor day! Once a month, I drive down to Saugus to go to Dr. Pace and get my back realigned. He is the most gentle man I have ever met, and he gives the BEST back massages! I arrive with a sore back and leave feeling like a million bucks.

I'm pretty proud of this picture. I got over my fear of the snowblower and used it by myself for the first time today and cleared out the whole driveway. OMG! So much faster and easier than shoveling the whole thing! Now, if it would only stop snowing every other day...

I know I don't usually include more than one picture each day, but I felt that one just didn't do this bird justice. We went to the pet store today during our errands in Salem. This little Quaker Parrot was loving Rob scratching his head. He was birdy mush! Unfortunately, he is a plucker, as you can tell by the top photo. He ripped out all of his stomach and leg feathers. Poor thing...

My first day of being unemployed...ahhh, how I've missed it! I hate the whole not-having-money part, but I admit, I do like not working! Rob has my car today, so I'm stuck in the house. Not that I have anywhere to go anyways. Here is Pip Squeakly sunning herself in front of the living room window. She likes to snooze in the sun. Such a cutie-bird!

Today is a bad day. This is my last day at work. At around 4pm, Rob calls me and says that he blew the engine in his STI and needed me to call AAA to tow him home. Now, I'm an hour north of him and I can't leave work for another half hour. I feel bad, but he just has to wait, there's nothing I can do for him until 4:30pm. When I leave work, I call AAA, and then proceed to fly down Rt. 16, 95 and 495 just hoping that I make it to him before the tow truck does. I manage to get there in 40 minutes, and we wait for the truck. When the flatbed arrives, for some reason, Rob's bumper won't clear the bed. Not sure why, the STI's been on a flatbed before with no problems. So he takes off the bumper (thank goodness it's held on with zip ties!) and up it goes. Then, we block traffic trying to get the car off the truck for a good 15 minutes, and finally it's done. Hrrrrmmmpff. I don't like this day.

More snow, argggggg!!!

*throws stuff* *swears at weatherman* *sighs*

The last of the crusty, dingy snow has almost melted and then this happened! So sad. I didn't go to work this morning, even though it was my second-to-last day at Measured Progress. There may not look like a ton of snow in this picture, but two hours prior to this, the winds were gusting to almost 40mph and we couldn't even see across the street because of the swirling snow. I wasn't about to drive an hour (probably 2 1/2 hours!) to work to just sit there and do nothing, like I've been doing for the past two weeks. Also, the snow started up again shortly after Rob took this picture. We ended up getting about 10" total. Rob didn't go in either, so we spent the day lounging around. It was kind of nice being snowed in. :)

Teehee! Little Roo is turning out to be a pretty good climber. He can't fly too well since his wings are clipped, but he runs across the floor and climbs up the back of the chaise really quick for such a little bird.
